Susan leads our Seattle office, overseeing an innovative team that supports a diverse roster of national, Bay Area and global clients. Her primary focus is on strategic communications and advocacy around education here and abroad, edtech, economic mobility, affordable housing, public policy, science and public health.

Key clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, NAF (National Academy Foundation), the Allen Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Susan is a storyteller, writer and expert in public positioning, advocacy, leveraging digital content, media relations and public speaking training. She joined GMMB in 2009 after an award-winning career in journalism that included nearly a decade as senior editor of NPR’s All Things Considered and Morning Edition, and many years covering the White House and national politics.
